Charles Donker
Né en 1940 à Utrecht, vit et travaille en Groningue (Pays-Bas).
--
He studied monumental art at the Koninklijke Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving (School of Fine Arts) in Den Bosch and devoted himself exclusively to printmaking from 1960 onwards.
The artist engraves his works, using the etching technique, "on the pattern", i.e. directly on the plate - made of brass - in front of the represented element, in nature.
Donker's legendary technique and exceptionally refined execution range his work among the best available today from the Netherlands, in the field of graphic art. His work can also be admired in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
