Pierre-Edouard

Pierre Edouard was born in 1959. From a very young age he was fond of drawing and painting. He was just fourteen when he created his first sculptures, drawing and painting at the same time.

He began creating his first drawings. The first "Heads" were produced during this period. Along with this, is the discovery of what becomes the "uninterrupted surface modeling" vision from which he conceived the work to come. This vision led him to consider all shape as a modeling of light and shade, a true almost musical use of shadows.

And in 1989 he has his first personal exhibition of paintings and drawings.

At the start of the nineties, Pierre Edouard started sculpting again as a full time occupation, and sculpture seems more suited to his need for surface-modelling and space. In 2001 the public discovered gravity free women : the theme of Eve or Noût. From then on this theme invaded his work.

Pierre-Edouard won the" Grand Prize of the Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco" and received First Prize (followed by an exhibition in Monaco) in 2003. In 2008 he was elected to the Institut de France, in the seat of Albert Féraud.
